In
2001 Joan Maher and Joan Vasilik teamed up to sell their handmade
flowers, plants and trees breaking into the circuit of miniature
shows along the east coast. You
may have also seen us at Regional and National NAME Conventions
as well as at the International Guild of Miniature Artisans
show
in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Joan
Maher is an IGMA Fellow creating Ikebana flower arrangements
in 1” and ½” scale as well
as traditional and modern American arrangements. Ikebana is the
Japanese Art of flower arranging which Joan has studied extensively
here and in Japan. Incorporating their principles of elegance and
simplicity into her work distinguishes her arrangements from all
others. Joan especially enjoys custom orders that encourage
her to try new ideas and expand her selection of flowers.
Joan Vasilik is a landscape artist adding beauty to the exterior
of miniature buildings. Her expertise is in creating beautiful
trees and flowering shrubs and plants in all scales. Joan
also likes special requests and thoroughly researches the subject
to create horticulturally correct plants for the buyer. |
